Call it the great legal bake-off. Every time she passed a milestone in the gruelling leadership election at the law firm Freshfields, Georgia Dawson celebrated by making cakes with her children.
“It was quite intense,” she says of the contest to become senior partner, which is held every five years and runs for months before a vote. She had to juggle the campaign with her day job as Asia managing partner. So at weekends she unwound with the family in the kitchen — “cakes and tarts, cookies, brownies, cupcakes”.
